Yesterday, after a harrowing night with the puppies (and water issues!), I set off with Faith and daughter, Eden, at 6 o’clock. Our destination; 3 counties show ground, to the West of England Ladies Kennel Society Show in Malvern.
Under judge Miss C Lockett, Eden took first in puppy bitch and ended the day as best puppy bitch in breed. Then, Faith, took second in open bitch.
This is a regular venue for championship shows, and we would normally be outside. However, due to weather concerns, we were inside. This can sometimes be a problem for rough collies, particularly when a venue is noisy and echoey, which this was. Yet, both girls coped admirably.
Eden, at 11 months, has really got the hang of the show ring. She behaved beautifully. She excels in type and movement. Faith, loves the show ring. In fact she enjoys any job you give her. Her movement was perfect yesterday, and as usual stood attentively.
After we finished in the ring, with my friend Val, we went off round all the stalls selling lots of lovely doggy things. Our first stop, as always, is the purina pro plan stand, where we enjoyed our free coffee as breeders and a chit chat with Lee and Graham. We then moved on to Royal Canin, where i purchased a sack of mother and baby complete food and puppy dog milk. For when we start weaning the pups.
